Zombies 2 takes a bite out of Kapow!

The long awaited sequel to Accent UK's best selling Zombies anthology, Zombies 2 (or 2ombies, if you prefer) will be getting it's official release at this years Kapow! Comic Con in London this weekend! The reason I'm blogging about it here? Well, me and Valia Kapadai have managed to sneak our way into it with a piece we had to call Dead Harvest:

Hired to investigate a grave robbing the police have no interest in, the robot PI, Hammett, soon uncovers a city-wide body snatching ring led by a once respected academic, Professor Milo Vernon. But as the mystery deepens, Hammett and his companions soon find themselves faced with an army of robotic undead, under Vernon's control...
Once again, the guys at AUK have pulled together some of the finest established and up and coming comic creators from around the world for a unique collection of short tales featuring the undead, and if this collection is anything like their previous ones (which have included John Reppion and Leah Moore, Dwight MacPherson and current X-scribe supreme Keiron Gillen), it's going to be something that you really should have in your collection. So, if you are at Kapow! this weekend, be sure and head over to the Accent UK table and grab a copy.

Diamond order code: MAR120709

However, if you can't make it to Kapow!, you can order the book through your local comic shop with this code:
MAR120709

Alternatively, you can buy a copy directly from Accent UK or get it from Forbidden Planet.

The first Zombies collection is now available in digital form for all your fruit based devices through LUSH Comics.

Comic Writer Services 2.0

OK, I have to confess this one almost slipped past me, but it seems Writer-To-Watch-Out-For and all round lovely person Dan Hill has managed to recompile a huge collection of articles and links from professional comic writers about the various aspects of the creative process that originally appeared on the now defunct Warren Ellis forum, The Engine.

The articles cover pretty much everything you could ever want to know about the process of writing comics, from moulding the initial idea all the way through to pitching it, and all of them are written by pros from across the industry, including Chuck Dixon, Matt Fraction, Gail Simone, Warren Ellis, Mark Waid, Kurt Busiek and a shedload more. It's a fantastic idea, and my hat goes off to Dan for taking the time to do it. You can find the page at this here link:

So, really, if you want to make comics, you don't really have much of an excuse not to head over there and have a read.
