A sneak preview...

A new strip called Arcadia by myself and the amazingly talented Paul (Monster Squad) Williams is due to appear in the next issue of the horror anthology Something Wicked, the sister publication of the Eagle Award nominated FutureQuake.

In a vain bid to whet your appetite, here's a sneaky peak at the strip...

And did I mention that it's a zombie story? A zombie story the likes of which you've never read before...

Editor extraordinarie Bolt-01 is also posting some more preview panels from the next issue of Something Wicked over in the FutureQuake forums.

Something Wicked #4 is due for release later this year.

Final Crisis

Ok, so I read the first issue of Final Crisis from DC.

Um... Yeah...

Not much more to add, really.

Although All-Star Superman still rocks.

Star Wars: 1942

Following on from the Steam Punk Star Wars: Star Wars fan and maker of jaw dropping custom figures Siloff also has another set of Star Wars customs on his site: Star Wars: 1942.

Now that's a Stormtrooper!

Again, they're an amazing collection of custom figures which are not for sale, which is a damn shame...

You can see the full range of custom figures over at Siloff's website.

Steampunk Star Wars...?

Just when you think you've seen it all...

Earlier today, I was fucking about on the Internet, trying to find some Steampunk reference material for an upcoming project, and I stumbled across this...

It's the main heroes from Star Wars re-imagined in a Steampunk vein,. Created by a Star Wars fan called Sillof, these are all custom made figures and not available to buy - which is a shame because that R2 looks fucking ace!

Just to keep a balance in the Universe, he's also done some customs of The Imperials...

You can see the full range Siloff's custom figures - with notes - here.

ROBOTS has landed!

Well, the latest (and biggest) anthology from Accent UK, ROBOTS, arrived in time for the Bristol Comic Expo. Unfortunately, I didn't make it to the con, but I DID get a copy of ROBOTS, and... Wow, is all I can say. 204 pages of roboty goodness, with some amazing artwork and a brilliant collection of contributors, both professionals and emerging talents. Well, 200 pages of roboty goodness and my contribution, Loose Ends.

Seriously, though, I am truly happy to be a part of that book. It feels like I've attained a certain level of achievement with it - which is not to say that I don't feel like that with all the work I've had published in FutureQuake and it's sister publications. I do. I'm proud of it, and I've had the good fortune to work with some amazing artists - one of which was Bryan Coyle, my collaborator on Loose Ends (and our upcoming strip for Accent UK's 2009 anthology WESTERN).

ROBOTS is awesome, though, and I urge anyone actually reading this to go out and buy a copy (Previews order code: MAR083379 or buy it directly from Accent UK). It's a beautifully put together graphic novel and it deserves a place in your collection.

And, no, I'm not just saying that because I'm in it...

Two-Face in The Dark Knight

If you're a total geek like me, you'll probably have been following progress on Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight. Yes, we've all seen Heath Ledger as The Joker, but what about the other villain of the piece, Two-Face?

Well, CanMag has the exclusive picture here. Be warned, though, it's pretty grusome stuff...

Apparently, Photoshopping IS Art

Reading the Metro on the way back from Newcastle the other day, I stumbled across this:

It's part of a series by a French photographer called Cedric Delsaux, where he superimposes Wars models into photographs of pretty bleak looking Parisian architecture. You can argue over whether using Photoshop is art or not, but you can't deny the fact that they are truly striking images.

You can find the complete series at www.cedricdelsaux.com.

After the elections for London Mayor...

...this seems appropriate...
