The Pat Mills Embargo (or "I've Posted A New Script!")
I've posted a new script on my WordPress blog: Xtras Episode 2.
A while back, I submitted a couple of scripts to Zarjaz, the 2000AD fanzine. They were meant to form a little series of six stand alone stories set in the world 'behind the scenes' of a comic strip, but all using 2000AD characters as 'guest stars' (it's pretty obvious, I think, that I was watching Extras a lot before I did this...).
Three of the six strips were meant to feature Nemesis The Warlock, Satanus and Slaine - all characters created by Pat Mills. What I didn't know was that Mills had put the kibosh on other writers using his characters. So, in a bid to keep on the right side of 2000AD, the Zarjaz editors decided to not publish my second Xtras strip because it used Nemesis. So I've decided to take a chance and publish it on my WordPress blog instead.
I only finished four of the six scripts for the series, however; two of them (featuring Judge Dredd and Johnny Alpha) are in submission limbo at the minute, and the other one - featuring Satanus - will be posted a little later.
